Newly Added Phthalates Restriction in RoHS Directive (EU) 2015/863

 

The Official Journal of the European Union published Commission Delegated Directive (EU) 2015/863 of 31 March 2015 amending Annex II to Directive 2011/65/EU by adding FOUR Phthalates on 4 June 2015.

Under the Directive (EU) 2015/863, 4 newly added phthalates (DEHP, BBP, DBP, DIBP)  which are identified as Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs) under REACH, in additional to other hazardous substances will be restricted in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) and will be effective on
22 Jul 2019.

IT AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT
(Telephones, Headphones etc.)

AUDIO EQUIPMENT
(Radio sets, Hi-fi set, Speakers etc.)

LIGHTING EQUIPMENT
(Luminaires for fluorescent lamps, LED lighting etc.)

TOYS, LEISURE AND SPORTS EQUIPMENT
(Electric trains or car racing sets, Sports equipment etc.)
